Em meu primeiro livro, ao relacionar as principais regiões produtoras de Portugal simplesmente não mencionei o Alentejo. Meu primogênito “O Vinho para quem tem Estilo”, lançado em 2000, começou a ser escrito em 1997, mesmo ano da inauguração da vinícola João Portugal Ramos, produtor emblemático da região. A coincidência na data ilustra bem a virada do vinho alentejano. Em pouco mais de uma década o Alentejo saiu de uma posição de desconhecido pelo mundo a líder entre os vinhos portugueses no Brasil e em Portugal.
