Your starting point is at the amazing São Bento Railway Station located at the Almeida Garrett Square in Porto that is considered one of the most beautiful Train Station in the world. This is a French influence building and was designed by Porto architect José Marques da Silva. The station has established itself as one of the main monuments in the city, especially being known for its 20.000 "Azulejos" tiles that compose the famous tile panels portraying, among other things, historical moments like the Arcos de Valdevez Battle; the presentation of Egas Moniz with the childrens of King Afonso VII of Leão and Castela in the twelfth century; the entrance of King João I and Filipa of Lencastre in Porto in 1387; the Conquest of Ceuta in 1415 and the traditional country life.

Buy the ticket and set off towards the Pinhão Train Station in the Douro Valley. Wine Tourism in Portugal will give you the opportunity to visit this magnificent wine region. Only by train you can enjoy the best views of the Douro Valley.

At Pinhão, head towards Quinta do Bomfim, a short walking distance to "one of the 50 must-see wineries in the world"- distinguished by by International Wine Challenge. Quinta do Bomfim Symington’s Visitor Centre is located in the heart of the world’s oldest demarcated wine region, a place of outstanding beauty. The vineyard (Quinta in Portuguese) is entirely family-owned and managed. The Symington family’s presence here over many generations translates into a profound knowledge of the land as well as a long-term vision. Five members of the Symington family personally run this Quinta and several others that they own in the region. The incomparable heritage of this private family vineyard is tangible and you will experience it whilst visiting the winery, the vineyards, the old wine cellar and when you taste the wines. The story of the family and of Bomfim is one and the same and is inseparable from the rich legacy of Port and the magnificent region in which is made. You will have a guided visit with wine tasting.

After the wine experience, take a break and relax during the vineyard walk at Ecco House at Quinta do Bomfim. Enjoy your picnic on the shaded terrace wich commands a breathtaking views of the terraced vineyards descending to the Douro River.

After lunch, head to Companhia Turística do Douro Pier, next to the river, you will find the typical boats, Rabelo Boats. You will have a 1h-cruise in the Douro River, an amazing cruise between Pinhão and Quinta da Romaneira.

Return to Pinhão Station and take the train back to Porto.

End of the Tour.
