Congratulations are in order to Portugal and everyone that works everyday to make our country stand out and offer **the best travel experiences** for those visiting it.

Portugal was awarded 14 prizes at the [World Travel Awards](http://www.worldtravelawards.com/), the "Oscar" of Tourism, in more than 10 European categories voted by travel agents worldwide. Algarve was elected **Europe’s Leading Beach Destination** and Turismo de Portugal won the award of **Europe’s Leading Tourist Board**.

It is no news that Portugal is one of the [best travel destinations in the world](http://www.winetourismportugal.com/en/), welcoming more than 15 million tourists every year. With a wide offer of both mountain and sea, countryside and beautiful beaches with great hotels, wine and food, it doesn't come as a surprise to see our country being recognized worldwide, but we sure feel proud! Here's a full list of the Portuguese awards
