Henrique Sá Pessoa, 2 Star Michelin Chef's

Lisbon’s fine dining scene continues to evolve with the opening of a highly anticipated new restaurant by Michelin-star chef Henrique Sá Pessoa. Located in the elegant Páteo Bagatela, this intimate new space marks a significant chapter in the chef’s culinary journey, steps away from his two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Alma.

Opened on February 17, the restaurant has already generated remarkable buzz, with hundreds of reservations confirmed in its first weeks, a clear sign that Lisbon remains one of Europe’s most exciting gastronomic capitals.

After earning two Michelin stars at Alma and receiving numerous international accolades, Henrique Sá Pessoa now presents a restaurant that reflects both maturity and creative freedom. Unlike the structured tasting-only format of many Michelin-starred establishments, this new concept embraces flexibility.

Guests are invited to dine à la carte, choosing two or three dishes paired with a glass of wine, or embark on a complete tasting experience. The philosophy is simple: refined cuisine without rigidity.

The restaurant features 30 seats in the main dining room, plus two coveted counter seats facing the open kitchen. From mid-March onward, a private dining room will accommodate 8 to 12 guests for exclusive dinners and bespoke culinary moments, supported by an independent kitchen designed for personalised gastronomic experiences, ideal for private celebrations or corporate gatherings in Lisbon.

The interiors, created by Rebeca Perez of Tabula Rasa Design Studio (Ibiza), balance understated elegance with personal storytelling. One wall showcases part of the chef’s private culinary library alongside gastronomic trophies and nostalgic tributes to his childhood basketball idols, Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond, subtly connecting gastronomy and personal heritage.

Henrique Sá Pessoa offers three menu options at his new Lisbon restaurant: the Menu Encontros, priced at 140€, designed as an introduction to his cuisine; the Menu Clássicos, at 220€, featuring the dishes that defined his career and earned him two Michelin stars and a Garfo de Ouro; and the Menu Costa a Costa, also 220€, a tribute to the rich seafood of Portugal’s coastline
