At this stage is possible to consider that travel and tourism will be changed forever. In the last months, airplanes have been grounded for many months and airports are still mostly ghost towns and international long-distance travel was very reduced. But since June, that slowly people are recovering and traveling again.

So, the real question is, if in the future we will still fly as much, and what the travel experience will look like? Let's find out, what travel means now.

[![Book Now and Travel Later](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/491068/c369210e-83ae-4c09-a68f-80784a1b30b2.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/491068/c369210e-83ae-4c09-a68f-80784a1b30b2)

In the years that are ahead of us, we know that in the near-future travel will slowly return to normal. But for now, travel will normalize more quickly in safe zones that coped well with COVID-19. Moreover, is important to take into account that will be three major and very different trends.

![997f0d1c6f2ca2f3ade131b499b975b0](https://blog.winetourismportugal.com/hs-fs/hubfs/997f0d1c6f2ca2f3ade131b499b975b0.png?width=978&name=997f0d1c6f2ca2f3ade131b499b975b0.png)

The frequent travel will understand that everything has changed so he will trust places with good governance and health systems. They will take fewer trips and stay longer in order to feel that he or she is traveling with a purpose. They will act like responsible citizens as well as passionate travelers, so we will keep traveling as the desire to explore new places will be higher than anything else.

Another fact is that, we are creatures of habit, but for better and worse, we will be traveling—and living and making all kind of predictions, we will also be more conscious, conscientious, and sensitive to the health of people and the planet, and we’ll be ready to help the world heal and explore will all the time that we can and experience to the max authentic experiences. So, we will be in a race to reserve the best exclusive-use cottages and villas, fully serviced in order to avoiding mingling with strangers, for example.

Moreover, we’ll spend more time planning, preparing, and squeezing the most out of the anticipation. Once-in-a-lifetime vacations will become exactly that again. It’s the anticipation of heading off, more than the experience of having had the trip itself, that will definitely lift your mood.
